Grassroots and Lovin' It

There are two initiatives I've recently been alerted to...

www.wecansolveit.org: The We Campaign is a project of The Alliance for Climate Protection -- a nonprofit, nonpartisan effort founded by Nobel laureate and former Vice President Al Gore. Its goal is to stop global warming. The organization is educating people in the US and around the world that the climate crisis is both urgent and solvable. It gives the public great ways to get involved, and alerts you about what's going on in your area.

The other one is www.thepickensplan.com...the aim of this grassroots movement is to decrease our country's dependence on oil. Apparently, in 1970 we imported 24 percent of our oil, and today that number is more than 70 percent. The Pickens Plan proposes to be a blueprint to reduce foreign oil dependence by harnessing domestic energy alternatives, and buy us time to develop even greater new technologies. Check out the website to see different ways to get involved and spread the word.
